Nice one, I see (among other things) TfW Rail 170 in here now :) I'll help when I'm properly "back" doing this sort of thing, but images can be updated using the same file names as in the train class and train operating company articles, and numbers in fleet can be got from those articles too. I can add (a) row(s) if you let me know which one(s) to add. Anamyd logged out --91.125.45.125 (talk) 12:25, 2 July 2020 (UTC)

The title of this article is British railway rolling stock, but the article says United Kingdom (but which links to a "British" article!) and includes the NI Railways fleet. How do you change the title of an article...? Ah yes that could be an issue, although the TOC pages don't seem to cite any sources for the build years and it doesn't seem to be a problem.143.159.50.70 (talk) 23:40, 14 December 2020 (UTC)

170s
170 allocation is badly out of date - EMR section shows just 2 with them and both ex-ScotRail /4s. EMR now has 13 170s - 5x 3-car ex-ScotRail /4s (170416/417/418/419/420), 7x 2-car ex-WMR /5s (170503/511/515/530/531/532/534) and 1x 2-car ex-TfW /2 (170273). I'll probably sort it out later unless someone else does before me. 51.7.117.160 (talk) 15:21, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

I don't think East Midlands Railway has 156s anymore, and Merseyrail now has 507s and 777s, rather than 507s and 508s. Also, TfW no longer operate any 170s or 175s. etc. etc. - I'll do some updating shortly. == Update to multiple units section coming shortly ==

I've just finished my draft list for updating the multiple units section, so I'll update this section shortly. So far I've updated about the first half of the multiple units section (from Avanti West Coast to London North Eastern Railway). I'll update the rest of it (from Locomotive Services Limited to West Midlands Trains) today.

The first 21 multiple unit operators (from Avanti West Coast to Northern Trains) have been updated, and I'll update the 22nd to 31st multiple unit operators (from ScotRail to West Midlands Trains) later today, the 26th of May 2024.Anamyd (talk) 05:05, 26 May 2024 (UTC)

Article title

[edit]

The title "Passenger locomotives in use in the UK" is very confusing, as the vast proportion of the entries in the list are multiple units, rather than locomotives. Any suggestions for a more appropriate title? --David Biddulph (talk) 09:32, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is just to remind myself (and let others know) that I'll be updating this if no one else does Anamyd (talk) 10:05, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would not usually include Northern Ireland in "Britain" (a political label) which in my school geography lessons this was different to the British Isles (a physical geographic description).
But this does raise an important question about the scope of this article. Where are the LT and similar fleets? What about freight operators? The hauled carriages? Geof Sheppard (talk) 17:01, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
