Abreu made his UFC debut at light heavyweight against Magomed Ankalaev on February 23, 2019 at UFC Fight Night: Błachowicz vs. Santos.[8] He lost the fight via unanimous decision.[9]

Abreu then faced Sam Alvey on July 20, 2019 at UFC on ESPN: dos Anjos vs. Edwards.[10] He won the fight via unanimous decision.[11]

Abreu next faced Shamil Gamzatov on November 9, 2019 at UFC Fight Night: Magomedsharipov vs. Kattar.[12] He lost the fight via split decision.[13]
