Justified representation (JR) is a criterion for evaluating the fairness of electoral systems in multi-winner approval voting. It can be seen as an adaptation of the proportional representation criterion to approval voting.[1]

Variants

JR has several variants, from weak to strong:

  • Proportional JR (PJR);[2]
  • JR;
  • Extended JR (EJR).
