Thomas William Delany (1868 – 9 July 1939) was an Irish politician and solicitor. He was an independent member of Seanad Éireann from 1938 to 1939 on the Cultural and Educational panel.. He was elected to the 3rd Seanad in August 1938 by the Cultural and Educational Panel.[1] He died in office in 1939.[2] Thomas J. O'Connell was elected on 22 January 1941 to fill the vacancy.

Thomas William Delany was born 2 march 1868 in Longford, son of Kieran and Margaret Delany. His father was a merchant and Town Councillor in the town of Longford.
He attended St Mel's College, Longford, and Summerhill College, Sligo.
He was Hon. Sectretary of the Charleton Charitable Bequest.
He was apprenticed to Jeremiah McCarthy, Solicitor with a large practice in Sligo.
He was admitted as a Solicitor in 1891.
He set up practice in Longford soon afterwards.
He was President of the St Vincent de Paul Society in Longford.
He was governor of Longford Infirmary.
On the resignation of Mr. Leslie Fleming as Crown Solicitor for County Longford, T.W. Delany was appointed in he stead.
He became State Solicitor in 1923.
