The 2022 Monaco Grand Prix (formally known as the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco 2022) is a scheduled Formula One motor race event due to be held on 27 until 29 May 2021 at the Circuit de Monaco, a street circuit that runs through the Principality of Monaco. It is scheduled to be the 7th round of the 2022 Formula One World Championship, the 79th time that the Monaco Grand Prix was held.

Background

The drivers and teams were the same as the season entry list with no additional stand-in drivers for the race. Tyre supplier Pirelli brought the C3, C4 and C5 tyre compounds (designated hard, medium and soft respectively) for teams to use at the event, with minimum of one set of each of the C3 and C4 compounds to be mandatorily used during the race by each driver.[2]

Free practice

Three free practice sessions are scheduled per the sport's regulations. For the first time, in defiance of Monaco tradition, the first two sessions were not held on Thursday but on Friday in balance with the other Grand Prix weekends during the season. The final session was scheduled for Saturday, 13:00 local time, ahead of the qualifying practice session.

Qualifying

Qualifying scheduled for start at 16:00 local time on Saturday, 28 May 2022.
