Raven Lydia Baxter (born January 1989) is a fictional character (played by Raven-Symoné) on the comedy television series, That's So Raven.
Character Information
Raven is a girl who possesses "psychic powers" (precognition) and uses this to try to change events, though she often misinterprets the meaning of her visions. She is an aspiring fashion designer. Her best friends are Eddie Thomas, played by Orlando Brown, and Chelsea Daniels, played by Anneliese van der Pol.
In the show, Raven's psychic powers allow her to catch a glimpse of the future. This is characterized by her going into a blank stare, and the TV audience sees her vision. She has no real control over the visions, but the visions usually involve whatever she's thinking about at the moment she gets a vision. Raven learned that her Grandma Viv (Jenifer Lewis) is also a psychic, but her own mother is not, meaning that the psychic power skipped a generation.
In addition to being an aspiring fashion designer, she is also a master of disguise, a skill that comes in handy mainly because of the trouble her visions can cause. In Season 4, Raven landed an internship with world-famous fashion designer Donna Cabonna (Anne-Marie Johnson).
She is very loyal to her friends and her family. She is also a very determined individual, always going to great lengths to achieve her goal. However, she doesn't always consider how her actions might affect those around her. She is also seen as being self-absorbed, a fact which was evident in the Season 4 episode Juicier Consequences. Also, while she has a take-charge attitude, it also results in her being a control freak, which often leads to friction. On the other hand, Raven is very tolerant of Chelsea, who can be very airheaded and naive.
Raven ridicules and antagonizes her little brother, Cory Baxter. Also, she went as far as to scam him into taking dance lessons just so she could meet an R&B superstar, as well as using one of her visions against him. At one point, her treatment of Cory nearly led to him hating her, but Raven dealt with that. Despite this, whenever it matters the most, or when she wants something badly enough, Raven has proven time and again that she would do anything for him. She always tries to stop her visions from happening or tries to make them happen.
Devon
The only steady boyfriend Raven had during the show was Devon Carter. The two decided to take a break, although not officially breaking up, when Devon's family moved to Seattle, WA. Raven would see him again when he and his dad came back to town on her prom night. She would again see him when he returned, but her boss, Donna Cabonna, would get in the way. When Raven and Devon were in a break (but haven't broke up), Raven decided to try to be Eddie's girlfriend but they just stayed friends.
Eddie
In the episode When 6021 Met 4267, Raven went on her school's online dating service to find a date, only to learn that her perfect match was her best friend, Eddie Thomas (Orlando Brown). The two decided to give the relationship a shot, but ultimately stayed just friends. After Raven has a party, they kiss and liked the kiss but lied to each other and said they still didnt feel any magic when they secretly did. There is love in the air for them...theres no question about it. It is rumored that she and Eddie kiss again on the seasons finale of Cory in the House
