:Ruggs has only faces charges for his alleged crimes so far. A mugshot is only usable in the infobox when a firm conviction is in place. With that said, I do think this mugshot could be introduced in the legal proceedings section (ex: O. J. Simpson). The only problem is I believe this image is copyrighted. It claims to be protected as a work of the United States Government (see image on commons). However, this is not a work of the US federal government, it's a work of either the State of Nevada or local authorities in Las Vegas, and I don't believe such works are in the public domain. Therefore, this image is not usable. Iamreallygoodatcheckers (talk) 04:42, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

Upcoming Edits

Hello Wikipedians, I will soon be implementing various significant edits to this article. I think the current structure of this article is well organized, but I will be adding one new section and building out the content for the current sections. Specifically, I will be expanding upon the notability of Ruggs’ speed at the NFL combine and his high school and college accomplishments and experiences. I believe that these edits will help give a better understanding as to the notability of Henry Ruggs as he embarks on his NFL career. I will also be re-sourcing a few pieces of the current content, as I found some of the sources currently misrepresent information about Ruggs. Furthermore, I plan on adding a “Personal Life” section which discusses the charities in which Ruggs is involved to help victims of the current Coronavirus pandemic, among other things. I look forward to building out this article further, and welcome any discussion, feedback, and improvements anyone else may have. DylanElder (talk) 16:26, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Dylan Elder[reply]

Start playing?

Did he start playing football in 8th grade or junior year? Can’t be both! 100.8.75.148 (talk) 11:05, 6 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2021 fatal car crash

Regarding the recent fatal car accident Ruggs was involved in, I was wondering if we could possibly create an entirely new article about the incident. The amount of sources for the situation are escalating each day and I think it wouldn't be too bad of an idea, but I wanted to reach a consensus first. I have recently expanded the section in this article with many sources to verify my contributions. (contribution) Please feel free to discard this idea, but I don't think we should ignore it either. Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks. cheezejack | talk | contributions - 22:24, 11 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is/was a football player

Hi, all. Seems like there's a difference of opinion about whether to call Ruggs a current or former football player. Let's hash it out here rather than in edit summaries. PRRfan (talk) 04:16, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Saying "I doubt he will be playing anytime soon due to the gravity of the crimes committed" shows no proof that he will never play. As Tundraspalace stated, Michael Vick returned to the NFL after being released from prison, and played for multiple different teams during that time. It is still possible that he could play again. And furthermore, he is technically in free agency. [1] - cheezejack | talk | contributions - 18:48, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I had Ray Rice in mind when I made that revert. However, I wasn't aware that the NFL eventually suspended Rice indefinitely as a result of his incident (Ruggs hasn't as of this comment). I figured Ruggs would get nothing less. In any case, he's not going to be playing football anytime in the near future with his charges, but we can re-edit his status if he signs back on and return to playing. --MuZemike 02:46, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Similarly I've undone changes from "Free agent" to "former player". He has been released and is not playing now, but we don't know that he will never play again, in the NFL or elsewhere. Meters (talk) 23:48, 15 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Type of car in fatal collision

The police report on the accident describes the car as a 2013 "Toyota Rav4" and multiple sources in our article repeat that. A user is attempting to change our description from "Toyota Rav4" to "Toyota Prius", without adding any reliable sources that say so, and has commented on his talk page that the car caught fire because it was a Prius (a hybrid). Even the source that the user mentions in his second edit summary "https://www.tampabay.com/sports/bucs/2021/11/02/raiders-henry-ruggs-to-face-dui-case-in-fatal-crash-police/?outputType=amp Here's a picture and source showing that it's a Toyota Prius" actually calls it a Rav4, not a Prius: "According to police, Ruggs was driving a Chevrolet Corvette a little before 3:40 a.m. when it crashed into the rear of a Toyota Rav4 on a busy thoroughfare in a residential area several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip." [emphasis mine]

There is social media buzz that pictures appear to be of a Prius rather than a Rav4, and some sources have reported on these social media claims, but I have not found any independent reliable sources saying that the car was a Prius. Can anyone find any?

Alternatively, we can just remove mention of the model of the car. The collision was at something like 120 mph. It's no wonder it caught fire. Does the model matter? The user seems to think that the fire was because it was a hybrid Prius, but non-hybrid cars can certainly also catch fire in a collisions such as that one, and for that matter, the 2013 Rav4 was also available as a hybrid model. Meters (talk) 23:43, 12 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Let's keep the model in the article. We have reliable sources that say police called it a Rav4, and the article properly reflects that. Even if evidence were to come to light that it was a Prius, we'd still want to note that police called it a Rav4—to show that the police report was wrong.PRRfan (talk) 04:17, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Car crash

How did he crash and why did he crash and was he Intoxicated with alcohol or drugs 2603:6010:C04:799D:D943:1EAE:62C1:16F6 (talk) 03:19, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't you read the article? It says that he had been drinking, he was speeding, and his blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. Meters (talk) 03:43, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lead image

user:Fekj is attempting to replace the current infobox image file:Henry Ruggs III (51249109907) (cropped).jpg with his mug shot file:Henry Ruggs in November Mugshot.png. This has been undone by user:Muboshgu and user:Iamreallygoodatcheckers, citing WP:BLPIMAGE. There's no question that he has indeed been charged with a serious crime, so I don't know that BLPIMAGE applies, but I agree that his mugshot should not be used as the infobox image. He was notable as an athlete before his legal troubles and I don't think it appropriate to use a mugshot in the infobox.

This change has been undone three times, and should not be restored unless there is consensus here to do so. I will undo the change again back to the stable version pending this discussion's resolution. Meters (talk) 04:26, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ruggs has only faces charges for his alleged crimes so far. A mugshot is only usable in the infobox when a firm conviction is in place.
