Hi. I have been seeing a lot of edit summaries such as those you leave and I am curious to know if you are using some tools and whether the use of such tools is helpful. See this discussion. Surtsicna (talk) 16:39, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why you keep attacking me.
This is a competition every participant in Kwara State registered for,and we are to do summary of Added image #WPWP #WPWPKWR at the end of every summary for every added image to count.
And Yes, there's a tool provided for participants to use for this campaign. Aderiqueza (talk) 15:52, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, please don't be offended. There's no attacks on you. It's just that those edit summaries, to people who don't know about that contest, are hard to understand and some people were wondering where this is coming from.
Your efforts are of course welcome, on the whole, but you may have noticed that some of your edits have been reverted (by Surtsicna as well as by myself). Please in the future avoid adding unauthentic and low-quality images of historical personalities like this or this. These are not useful in articles, and in the particular case of the early Popes, we actually had an RfC deciding that they are not wanted.
Also, please don't use "Photo of..." in the captions of historical images that are clearly paintings or drawings, not photos, as you did here [1] and in a couple other instances. Fut.Perf. 20:46, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for explaining further, this is what Surtsicna should have done instead of making me feel discouraged by portraying me badly on the noticeboard. I'm a newbie in this, and things should be explained to me, not making me feel bad. Aderiqueza (talk) 07:24, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm GiantSnowman. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Lewis O'Brien (footballer) have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse. Thanks. GiantSnowman 10:17, 15 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For the third time - the image you are trying to add to the Lewis O'Brien (footballer) article is not Lewis O'Brien, it is Jim O'Brien (footballer, born 1987). Your edits are disruptive. GiantSnowman 17:36, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Really?I never knew that is what you meant when you talked about it the first time. I am so sorry about that.

Aderiqueza (talk) 17:47, 17 July 2021 (UTC) Can I ask a question please? Why is there picture with another person's name on Commons?(For instance, this Jim O'Brien and Lewis O'Brien)Is there something that can be done?so that this kinda mistake won't happen next time I want to add pictures from Commons to pages. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Richard Atugonza requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Control copyright icon Hello Aderiqueza! Your additions to Hunger in Nigeria have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:20, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Osogbo art school

Hello, Aderiqueza. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Osogbo art school".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 20:54, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am reverting your addition of a citation to Madlyn Rhue. Unfortunately, findagrave.com is not a reliable source for use in Wikipedia citations because it is user-generated. I suggest that you read WP:USERGENERATED for more comments. It lists some other sources that should be avoided for the same reason. Eddie Blick (talk) 18:28, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wealthygorilla.com as a reference

Hi Aderiqueza . I noticed that you used wealthygorilla.com as a source for biographical information in Eva Marcille.[2] I am unable to find any evidence or discussion indicating that it meets reliable sourcing criteria for such information. It appears to be a blog. I've gone ahead and removed it. If you disagree, let's discuss it. You may want to check WP:RSP and WP:RSN to help determine if a source is reliable. Thanks.--Hipal (talk) 20:03, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Federal Government College, Billiri has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Federal Government College, Ganye there is consensus to delete these mass created articles on non notable schools.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
