Ngot Peter Mou Athuai commonly known as Slate Nation is a South Sudanese-born Australia-based[1] musician, artist and songwriter. He was born in Thiet, a suburb of Tonj State.[2][3]

Music career

Slate Nation began his music career in 2007 as a choir member in Don Bosco Missionary School in his hometown Tonj.[4] He made his breakthrough with his hit song Juba Juice in 2016.[5][6] He has collaborated with international acts such as Skales, Pallaso, Jose Chameleone[2] among others.[7][4] Currently he is working on his fourth studio album slated to drop in 2023 while featuring Chameleone, Skales, Tekno (musician) and Emmanuel Jal.[8] At the beginning of 2022, Slate nation conducted a world music tour with Rema of Marvin, Kizz Daniel, KiDi.[9]

Personal life

In 2018 December Slate Nation lost his brother 'Magontong' in a road accident while he was travelling to Tonj.[32] In 2017, he travelled to Australia amid claims that his life was in serious danger.[33][34]
