Why does composition of the Earth re-direct to this page? Those are related but very different topics. For example, the composition is primarily based on geochemical arguments while the structure is from geophysical. We need another page. "Hidden layer" of the earth

"A new study has provided the strongest evidence yet for this mysterious layer—what researchers have dubbed Earth’s inner-inner core."--https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/environment/a35731571/earth-has-secret-hidden-layer/

The above quotation comes from a popular science article that summarizes a study which appears in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth. It would be great to see something about this in the Wikipedia article. Crust depth?

Our table shows the crust extending for 35 km under all definitions. But our first sentence in the Crust section says 5-70 km. Can anyone who knows the nuances (I do not) make this coherent? Jmacwiki (talk) 14:45, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Geological cross section picture is obsolete

The picture showing the cross section of Earth's lithosphere is no longer accurate. A fifth later of the lithosphere has been discovered within the core. It is a solid sphere of iron geologists are calling the innermost core. 2607:FEA8:99C0:61C0:1BA:4E9A:C03F:4C59 (talk) 19:09, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
