Roh Deok (born 1980) is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. Her 2015 film The Exclusive: Beat the Devil's Tattoo has been described as "thoroughly entertaining" by The Korea Herald and her debut Very Ordinary Couple (2013) as containing "uncanny honesty and humor".[1][2][3][4] Very Ordinary Couple also won Asian New Talent Award for Best Feature at the Shanghai International Film Festival in 2013.[5]

Career

Director Roh Deok majored in film directing at Seoul Institute of the Arts.[6]

Roh made several short films and started as a scripter for Save the Green Planet! (2002). Roh made a place for herself by making two feature films, starting with Very Ordinary Couple (2012) and The Exclusive: Beat the Devil's Tattoo (2015), which follows a man who becomes embroiled in an uncontrollable big incident due to a moment of wrong judgment. Both films have different styles, but they showcase the talent of director Roh Deok as a 'storyteller'. They allow you to explore a wide spectrum.[6]
