Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma (born 1 July 2006),[1] known professionally as Qing Madi, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.[2][3][4][5][6][7] She gained initial recognition following the release of her hit single "See Finish" in 2022.[8][9][10] She received wider recognition for her 2023 single "Ole" featuring BNXN, peaking at number one and three on the Uganda and Nigeria Top 100 Apple Music respectively.[11][12][13][14][15]

Chukwuma was raised by her mother, along with her siblings. She began performing at a young age, participating in school talent shows and singing in her church's adult choir.[16][17][18]

Qing Madi's first single, "See Finish" (2022), made its breakthrough primarily on TikTok.[9] As of 2023, she has released three singles[17] and has been gaining prominence in the music industry; having performed at the Homecoming event in Lagos, Nigeria.[19][20] Qing Madi's music genres include Afrobeat, Pop, Soul, and R&B.[21][22]

In 2023, Spotify announced Qing Madi had been chosen as the Spotify Africa Equal Ambassador for the month of June.[23][24][25][26][27][28][29]

On July 21, 2023, Qing Madi released the single "Ole" featuring Bnxn. The song made entry to multiple Apple Music charts[11][12][13][14] and peaked at number 12 on the Turntable Official Nigeria Top 100[30] On August 19, it made its entry into the Official Charts Afrobeats Chart and peaked at number 16.[31][32]

In January 2024, alongside OdumoduBlvck, Blood Civilian, Tyla, e.t.c, Qing Madi was inducted into the Apple Music's Rising Class of 2024.[33][34][35] In an interview with African Folder, Madi revealed she wrote two songs on her debut eponymous project when she was fourteen.[36]
