Zanuck (1934–2012), a film producer, and his mother, Linda Melson Harrison, an actress.[2] Dean's paternal grandfather was Darryl F. Zanuck, film producer and 20th Century Fox co-founder; Dean's paternal grandmother was silent actress Virginia Fox (1902–1982), Darryl Zanuck's wife for fifty-five years.[2]

Productions under the banner include Sony Picture Classics' Get Low, starring Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, and Bill Murray; and the sci-fi fantasy, The Zero Theorem; directed by Terry Gilliam and starring Christoph Waltz, Matt Damon, and Tilda Swinton.[4][5][6] In 2015, Dean Zanuck and Disney veteran Rick Calabash formed Zanuck Family Entertainment to produce family oriented motion pictures and multi-platform content.[2]
