Hot can have several meanings:

  • Relatively high temperature. See also heat conduction.
  • Can describe spicy food.
  • Slang term referring to the attractiveness of a person. A person who is considered extremely attractive is said to be "hot", e.g., "That girl is hot!"
  • Slang term denoting a recently stolen item that may not be desirable despite its value: "This car is so hot it burns!".
  • Jargon used to describe radioactivity. "Be careful, the room is hot".
  • Hot is also the name of a 1970s pop music group whose best-known song is "Angel In Your Arms".
