India Ahead, an English-language news channel in India, is operated by the Andhra Prabha Media Group. Launched in June 2018, the channel offers a news, current affairs, entertainment, sports, and business content. It provides coverage from both Indian and international viewpoints. India Aheads is the first English news channel to be broadcast from South India.[citation needed]

History

Andhra Prabha entered into the space of broadcasting with an Indian television channel dedicated to news in English.[1]  The channel's headquarters is situated in Hyderabad, India, with studios in Delhi and Hyderabad.[2]

Editorial team

India Ahead is an Indian news channel that was initially led by Chetan Sharma, who served as the Founding CEO and Editorial Director.[3] In June 2020, the Andhra Prabha Group's Managing Director, Mootha Goutam, announced significant changes in the channel's senior management. Following these changes, Chetan Sharma departed from the channel, and several new senior appointments were made to strengthen the channel's leadership.

Sudeep Mukhia, a former executive from CNN-News18, joined India Ahead as Group President, overseeing News Room Operations and Editorial Strategies. Additionally, Bhupendra Chaubey was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief, while Sudha Sadanand took on the role of Editorial President. [4] These appointments were part of the channel's efforts to enhance its editorial and operational capacities.

Ratings

The channel became the No.1 channel, in terms of average time spent by viewers during the Budget Week, among all English News Channels in India.[5]  Also, the channel is performing well in the Southern Indian States such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu[6] and Karnataka.[citation needed]

Distributions

India Ahead is available on all major direct to home platforms and cable television operators[7] as a Free-to-Air channel.[8] Also, the channel is available through its mobile app on the Google Play store[9] and the App Store.
