This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons (BLP) policy, even if it is not a biography, because it contains material about living persons. Contentious material about living persons that is unsourced or poorly sourced must be removed immediately from the article and its talk page, especially if potentially libellous. If such material is repeatedly inserted, or if you have other concerns, please report the issue to this noticeboard. This page is about a politician who is running for office or has recently run for office, is in office and campaigning for re-election, or is involved in some current political conflict or controversy. For that reason, this article is at increased risk of biased editing, talk-page trolling, and simple vandalism. If you are a subject of this article, or acting on behalf of one, and you need help, please see this help page. |

SunCrow's disputed edits
[edit]Per WP:BRD, I have reverted edits by SunCrow which fail to reflect the cited reliable sources and bizarrely claim that gender identity is a "nebulous concept" - that's not what sources say. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 03:29, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- There is nothing nebulous about the term. Furthermore, it's absolutely essential to mention transgender individuals in the context of the bathroom bills (as shown by all RS coverage on the issue), even if SunCrow refuses to recognize their existence. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 03:59, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- Per WP:NPOV, I continue to object to the slanted language contending that HB2 "prevent[ed] transgender people who have not altered their birth certificates from using the restroom consistent with their gender identity". That entire clause should be removed, and the sentence should simply read, "It declared that in government buildings, individuals may use only the restrooms that correspond to the sex on their respective birth certificates". Also, no one said anything about not recognizing anyone's existence. Finally, given the fact that there are apparently now 54 different gender identities (see https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/gender-identity-terms), I seem to be on very firm ground pointing out that gender identity is a nebulous concept. SunCrow (talk) 04:13, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- An article which discusses and defines 54 different terms related to gender identity does not support your claim that "there are 54 different gender identities." Please don't misrepresent sources. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 04:34, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- You're absolutely right, NorthBySouthBaranof. A closer review of the source shows that it lists a total of 41 different gender identities, not 54. I was off by 13. Shame on me. I will now proceed to punish myself by (a) eating only vegan food for a week; and (b) watching Rachel Maddow on a nightly basis until my head explodes. SunCrow (talk) 17:05, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- Gender identity is a term that has been defined by demographers and used in the collection of national census data. I'm quite confident that it is less "nebulous" than many concepts you use on a daily basis. Newimpartial (talk) 18:04, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
- Stop bothering me. I'm busy with my self-imposed penance. Binge-watching Rachel Maddow right now. My head hasn't exploded yet, but I feel the pressure building... SunCrow (talk) 19:02, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
