Tim Lucas is a writer, film critic, and editor of the video review magazine Video Watchdog.

In 1985, Lucas started a magazine column investigating the changes made to various films (usually horror, cult and fantastic) when they appeared on video. These early columns were collected in The Video Watchdog Book (ISBN 0963375601) in 1992. In 1990, Lucas launched Video Watchdog as a separate magazine.

Lucas has also written a few novels including Throat Sprockets (ISBN 0385312903) in 1994 and The Book of Renfield: A Gospel of Dracula (ISBN 0743243544) in 2005.
