Phra Phutthabat (Template:Lang-th) is a district (Amphoe) located in Saraburi Province, Thailand.

Wat Phra Buddha Baat

The district is named after the Wat Phra Phutthabat, meaning temple of Buddha's footprint. In the 17th century a hunter found a puddle of water which looked like a (oversized) footprint. It was declared a footprint of Buddha, and the temple was built around it.

Another well-known temple in the district is Wat Tham Krabok, both as a Hmong refugee camp and as for its drug rehabilitation program.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the north clockwise) Mueang Lop Buri and Phattana Nikhom of Lopburi Province, and Chaloem Phra Kiat, Sao Hai, Ban Mo, Nong Don.

Administration

The district Phra Phuttabat is subdivided into 9 subdistricts (tambon), which are further subdivided into 67 villages (muban).
