Template:BD (Born - Died) is for adding the categories for births and deaths in a certain year (ie. 1935 births, 1994 deaths).

If the year of death is left blank (ie. {{BD|1945||Body, Some}} then the category:Living people is used in place of year died.
The name to be sorted as is most often in the form of Last name, First name. If this field is left blank, the page name is used.
This template includes the default sort tag {{DEFAULTSORT:name sorted by}}. Therefore, other categories do not need sort tags.
