Dollard-des-Ormeaux is a borough of Montreal in southwestern Quebec, Canada. Population (2001): 48,206

The city was named after French martyr Adam Dollard des Ormeaux. Along with the other municipalities on the island of Montreal, it became merged with the city of the same name on January 1, 2002. Recently however, referendums were held in several former boroughs of Montreal to re-instate them as their own separate entities. Dollard-des-Ormeaux is scheduled to be re-instated as a city on January 1, 2006. Dollard-des-Ormeaux is also sometimes referred to as D.D.O. or simply Dollard.
