Spongebob

Hi. Concerning your edits to that page, you did remove some "strange stuff", but you also removed some probably correct information. Also, you added unnesecary material, which is probably needs verification, and contains grammatical errors. I am currently unable to fix these errors, because it is hard to tell what information you added should be in the article and what shouldn't, and the same goes for the info you removed. I will tag the page for cleanup. Please be more careful only to remove incorrect info and not add any unnesecary info in the future. I will also attempt to fix some of it if possible. Thanks. -- AstroHurricane001(T+C+U) 21:50, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Well, it's been mostly fixed now anyway, so it doesn't really matter. Thanks. -- AstroHurricane001(T+C+U) 22:03, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Per your mouse question...

You might want to read WP:NAME. VanTucky 22:48, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if the policy page addresses this (as it pretty obvious if you search around names of articles)...but just like a print encylopedia, Wikipedia capitalizes the first word of every title. That is an established part of naming convention. The part people can't agree on is when to cap the following words. Only in a name? never? the arguments go on forever. But for the first word, capitalizing is pretty much accepted across the board. VanTucky 00:34, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Alexander Campbell

According to the book A Molly Maguire Story by author Patrick Campbell (descendant of Campbell's brother James), Campbell was known as "Alec" all his life. Also, you reverted the date of birth -- I error in the side of avoiding edit wars, so I'll let you add it back. You can check with the above mentioned source and use that as a reference.

As a secondary reference, which you can view via Google Booksearch, see:

http://books.google.com/books?id=TcFbvuJbey8C&q=%22Alec+Campbell%22+Molly&dq=%22Alec+Campbell%22+Molly&pgis=1

Admittedly, many other books refer to the man as Alex; I gave more weight to the first reference above due to the family connection of the author. While I would not assume it to be authoritative due to potential bias with regard to many other aspects of the Alexander Campbell story, in the case of his diminutive name, I believe the family connection of the author to non-controversially lend credence to the claim that the name was "Alec". (Alex is the normal diminutive for Alexander, which might explain why so many other texts refer to him as such.)

(While the issue of Alex vs. Alec is irrelevant at present, since the article currently avoids diminutives, it may become relevant again if someone adds the fact that the current name of the Jim Thorpe, PA division of The Ancient Order of Hibernians is named "The Alec Campbell, Mauch Chunk Division of Jim Thorpe, Pa."[1])

Thanks for un-vandalising my pages!

My pleasure, and thanks for the smile! :) * Aillema 15:22, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You recently reverted one of my edits to Privatisation of British Rail which you marked as vandalism. Could you please explain why you think my edit was vandalism as I did follow WP:NPOV and provided a citation. Thanks. Tbo 157(talk) (review) 15:46, 17 September 2007 (UTC) Apologies, Im an idiot. I just realised you reverted back to my edit. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for helping to revert vandalism. Tbo 157(talk) (review) 15:49, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are NOT an idiot. A very easy mistake to make! Thank you for leaving me a message about it, I could have very easily been wrong :) * Aillema 22:24, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reverting my user page!

Revert

Excuse me, why did you revert my edits to passenger pigeon? 172.129.240.83 16:10, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please cite your reliable sources that show the Passenger Pigeon is no longer extinct. Thanks, and have a lovely day. * Aillema 16:22, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heh heh, caught you out ;-) [2] Cheers, DWaterson 19:21, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have removed your speedy deletion request from The Kentucky Curse. The page appears quite coherent and upon googling, I found an entire article on the subject [3] from a Kentucky basketball history website, as well as some news articles [4], [5]. --B 00:03, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops! My mistake indeed, I can't have checked properly :( Thanks for telling me. * Aillema 00:49, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Captain Richard Avery Hornsby

Concerning your decision to put a speedy delete on this page as you felt it violated copyright. Well, for your information, I wrote it. hence the copyright is MINE. I am a journalist who specialises in history articles and this article is factually correct and all my own work. Thankyou. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seahamlass (talkcontribs) 09:58, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. * Aillema 11:54, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Signing 'You're welcome' does not answer my concern. I would like some kind of explanation please - or are you incapable of original thought? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Seahamlass (talkcontribs) 20:56, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You didn't ask a question, so I didn't think a reply was needed. As for original thought, yes I am incapable, see WP:OR. * Aillema 21:13, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I STILL don't understand why you felt a fully researched article, with plenty of historical facts and figures, wasn't suitable for Wikipedia. I suppose my question is why?

We don't want text lifted from somewhere else; it wasn't written like an encyclopedia article, looked like a copyvio and lacked the reliable references required. The link you provided is dead as well. We would of course appreciate an article on the subject provided it is notable, has reliable sources and is encyclopedic. Thank you. * Aillema 12:19, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dino the Machine

I am not quite sure why you have reverted back to the information I deleted on Canada Mens National Soccer Team page. The information that is on there is old and not even correct. Canada has played a game in between this and no one cares about who got called up for the Iceland game. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Razcle (talkcontribs) 15:36, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm

[6] Is that a reputation I deserve have come to have honestly? :) Jmlk17 10:16, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just notice you often oppose for very vague reasons, "lack of experience" being the most common. It surprises me a lot, as you are often in the minority opposing, and the user in question has plenty of experience but you oppose anyway. I don't care if you oppose - but clearer reasons might be more helpful :) Take care, * Aillema 19:03, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good... thank you for the help :). Jmlk17 23:09, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for reverting the anonymous change to my User page - I will confess to not having seen it happen! All the best. Bobo. 03:44, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You don't look like a bot

so you probably posted in the wrong place on Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention. Unless of course you are a bot who has learnt to think for themselves, in which case I apologise. ;) John Hayestalk 12:10, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
