How Wood is a railway station in the village of How Wood, Hertfordshire, England.

It is the fourth station on the St Albans Branch Line 7 km (4½ miles) after leaving Watford Junction. Like all the other stations on the branch (except Watford Junction), How Wood is now a simple unstaffed halt. It was opened in October 1988 to coincide with the overhead electrification of the line.

Service

Currently there is a service every 45 minutes in either direction Monday to Saturday, with hourly service on Sundays. The railway takes 16 minutes to travel between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey railway station.

Future

In November 2007 responsibility for this branch line, including How Wood station, will pass from Silverlink trains to Govia. Other possible changes on the line include new means of buying tickets, and the restoration of a passing loop at Bricket Wood, which would facilitate a 30-minute train service.
