Massacre in Korea was painted by Picasso in 1951. It is an example of the expressionistic style, and reprises Francisco Goya's The Third of May 1808, which shows Napoleon's soldiers executing Spanish civilians under the orders of Joachim Murat, and also on Manet's The Execution of Emperor Maximillian.
During this time in his life, Pablo Picasso was moving away from communist ideology. However, this work of art shows sympathy toward the ideas he was rejecting and the influence of the Maoist propaganda of the era, including the idea of the Korean War being nothing more than a massacre of Korea's inhabitants by the United States military.
