Meditation Therapy is a very broad reference to the use of techniques associated with meditation for the treatement of a psychological or physiological disorder. Given the generality of this term, any attempt to define it as specific to any given meditative technique or type of disorder should be considered as either ignorance or a biased special pleading. Meditation is a term used to denote both a state of body/mind/soul/spirit and the techniques that have been historically employed to attain such a state. In the Hindu system, it is the the "seventh limb" of yoga, known as dhyana, the eight limbs being (1)External moral practices,(2)Internal moral practices,(3)Bodily control, (4)Breath control, (5)Sensory control, (6)Concentration, (7) Meditation, (8)Bliss. |
