Education

Mayor Perez has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Laredo State University with a major in English and a minor in political science. He also has a law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. Recall effort

Perez was the subject of a recall which failed. Citizens for Responsible Government-Sheboygan (CRG) launched the recall effort July 7, 2006, stating that Perez was "failing to uphold his mayoral duties in office with integrity and professionalism," a claim that was loosely based on the most appropriate location for a new police station. The group had collected 4,013 signatures by September 5, 2006. The recall effort failed that day. Since the recall effort, most of the city population has not been at odds with him.
