Nicholas Caradoc "Nick" Hoult[1] (born 7 December 1989[2][3][4]) is an English film and television actor.
Early life
Hoult, the third of four children,[5] was born in Wokingham, Berkshire, the son of Glenis, a piano teacher, and Roger Hoult, a pilot for British Airways.[6] His siblings are James, Rosie and Clarista. His great aunt was Dame Anna Neagle.[6] He attended The Henley College in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, but left in year 12 to focus on his acting career.[7]
Career
Holt made his famous big screen debut in the film About a Boy, where he plays a nerdy teenager, named Marcus, alongside Hugh Grant's rich London lothario. He then gained a leading role as Tony in the E4 drama Skins. It was announced on 29 March 2008 that most of the current characters, including his, will be written out of the show in the current season's completion. Hoult has been nominated for a The Walkers Home Grown Talent Award.[8] Hoult also appeared in an episode of Magic Grandad, a BBC Schools program teaching children about history. The episode, "Seaside Holiday with Magic Grandad: The Promenade and Souvenirs", also aired on BBC2.
