Croxton is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Northcote, on the Epping railway line. Croxton station is unmanned and is in Metcard Zone 1.
Facilities
The station is located between Spencer Street and Stott Street, both providing station access.
The station consists of two side platforms: Platform 1 (citybound) has a large brick building, while platform 2 (Epping bound) has a smaller brick building. A large Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 2.
History
Croxton station opened on October 8, 1889. It is one of only three stations on the electrified Melbourne network to have an 'x' in its name (the others being Box Hill and Roxburgh Park).
