Categories

When an article is in Category:Defunct casinos in Las Vegas it is automatically included in Category:Casinos in Las Vegas. You should not add the extra category entry. Vegaswikian (talk) 06:05, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Keep information in one article for a topic

There already was an article on Vegas Vic so all of the material you added to Pioneer Club Las Vegas about Vegas Vic should have been in the main article. It is not good to duplicate information in multiple articles. Vegaswikian (talk) 07:13, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Editing comments

Thank you for at least finally commenting on what you are doing. You need to learn how Wikipedia works. Vegas Vic has an article because it is notable on its own. Just because the casino gets an article it does not mean that the the Vegas Vic article should be abandoned or deleted. You need to fix that article and not create a new version somewhere else. Also, users don't own articles so the fact that you write something does not give you any special rights. I have tried to explain some of this to you, but you seem bent on moving in your own direction. Please fix the articles that need fixing and add inline citations to support claims. Don't repeat material in multiple places. That makes it harder to change and just about guarantees that there will be errors. Finally don't undo changes that are proper. Changes

You apparently have a misunderstanding on how the categories work. Vegas Vic is about sinage so it should be in that category. A casino article is not about signage so it does not belong in that category. With the number of changes you are making that are problems, good corrections will be missed in undoing the bad changes. I don't have the time to address all of your points in detail since I have limited time. Yes, they layout is somewhat defined. There is a Manual of Style and guidelines that cover this. For some examples to address your questions. Basically you only link the first reference to another article. You do not link every occurrence. Also, you should not box text between rows of images. If you have more images than you can fit in the article, they can go into a gallery section. As to citations, inline citations are what is really desired. You can use templates like {{cite news}}, {{cite web}} or {{cite press release}} to format the inline citations. Online sources are really preferred since it is easier to verify them. I fixed the first reference to use one of the cite templates listed above. You only need the name= on the ref tag if you are using the same citation in multiple places. You will need to use cite news for some of the other citations. You are also complaining about the how to do things correctly and my undoing corrections and leaving in errors. The problem is that you are reverting good corrections and making other errors. So you are having me spend more time undoing changes that have problems. It is not an issue of what is right or not.
