Benjamin N. Cardozo High School (sometimes called "'Dozo" by its students and others) is a secondary school in the Queens borough of New York City, New York.

Cardozo High School is named for U.S. Supreme Court justice Benjamin Cardozo. The school is operated by the New York City Department of Education.

A moderate amount of violence and crime pervades this school as with most high schools in New York City, but the area is relatively affluent and safe compared to the rest of New York City. Some have rated it among the best public high schools in the city and in 1998 Newsweek magazine rated it one of the top 100 schools in the United States. [1] A large amount of the students who go to the school are from out of the school's district.

True to its namesake, the school is known around New York City for its law program, offering classes in such subjects as contract law as well as a law internship program. In addition, the school's DaVinci program provides students an emphasis on scientific classes.

Feeder patterns

All New York City students entering high school must apply to schools, as there are no zoning boundaries for high schools in New York City. Therefore there are no feeder schools of Cardozo.
