My wheel-warring policy:
|
Admins: If you see me make a logged action that you think I should not have done, I will not consider it wheel-warring if you undo it without asking for my permission. However, if I marked the action as being done after running a checkuser query, or as part of a sockpuppet investigation, you should ask me or another checkuser before undoing it. In any case, if you do revert one of my actions, I would appreciate it if you tell me that you did so. Thanks! |

Hello and thanks for blocking User talk:32.172.120.128. You might also want to watch for User talk:32.173.192.204 who did almost identical vandalism at the same time. Thanks again. LovesMacs (talk) 14:04, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, this same person is continuing to express their political views on my talk page and other pages, from different IP addresses. Observe: 1, 2. Could you please block those addresses too? You can semi-protect my page if you want. Thank you. LovesMacs (talk) 23:52, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hello again, I suspect the same person is back at it. I've opened a sockpuppetry case at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/166.191.71.105. Could you please block that IP too? I don't know if you wanted this message under the same heading or a new one. Thank you. LovesMacs (talk) 17:30, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

A BIG Thank you!
Many thanks indeed for your prompt reversal of the vandalism from IP: 69.128.152.185 on my user page. S/he appears to be a persistent vandal - I checked earlier edits made from that address after s/he had vandalised the Dan McLeod page and found that they all seemed to be a acts of vandalism. I don't know how you picked up this one so quickly, but I am very grateful. Do you have any suggestions about how we might be able to block this person - or, at least, their IP address?
Cheers and all best wishes, John Hill (talk) 04:41, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

re: Infringement
Hi, yeah I saw him/her (funny how we always presume that vandals are males.... wonder if that's significant ;D) some other time, but this time I wasn't sure if I should build it up, or report straight away (after all, s/he isn't quite as famous as some of our other regulars... yet). But in future I'll just report :) - Kingpin13 (talk) 16:39, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Copy of deleted article
Greetings, I am trying to obtain a copy of a deleted article. What information do you need? The entry was called Calysto Communications (to the best of my knowledge). If there is anything you need to fulfill this request, I am your willing servant. Thank you. PS - I made this request of another administrator, but his talk page suggested that he may not be active at this time. Then I thought to make it of you since you're online about twenty-seven hours a day, but my incomplete memory led me to J.Milburn instead, and I wonder if he's even an admin! MWR Colbert Report
I edited the camp victory page that you reverted. the Colbert Report has taped a series of USO supported shows at CV. Is the MWR edit not the appropriate place for mentioning it. Or perhaps more information should have been included to give context for the edit. How would you suggest this event be documented? Cordially, Ebesch1 Ebesch1 (talk) 21:11, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Colbert makes comments about practically everything. Not everything he does is notable. Perhaps you could create a project on Wikia to chronicle Colbert's antics. Or maybe there already is, I don't know. J.delanoygabsadds 21:15, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Could you please look at one of my articles?
Hi, I've been working on an article in my namespace for a while now, and I wanted to know if you could give me some input, and possibly tell me how much more work, if any, I would need to do before I could make it public. My mother was one of the members of this group, and I have a bunch of great photos, but they are all from the 40's and 50's and I could never tell you who the photographers were. Is there any chance I can post any of these photos? Anyway, here is my article. Thanks! --Hatman1960 (talk) 05:34, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, the first thing you should do is add some citations to back up what you are saying, and to prove that the group is notable. Beyond that, I don't do a lot of writing, so I'm probably not the best person to ask. You might try asking User:Wizardman. J.delanoygabsadds 14:50, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
"unconstructive"
You undid my edit because it was "unconstructive". How? He was an ex-pupil, like everyone else on that list. He was taken off by someone else before so I put him back on like he should be and then you took him off again because it's "unconstructive". And I did an "edit summary". Why remove him from the list and not everyone else? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.25.203.78 (talk) 09:14, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Question about a revertion
Hi! You reverted an addition of mine to the article about superstition. I'd very much like to know why. Thanks /Carl — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cbswe (talk • contribs) 05:57, June 11, 2009
Edit: I just read that the addition was considered "unconstructive". I find this very subjective and unjustified since the addition are at least as interesting as the others in the list and definitely differs from the others. The addition is also one of the most annoying superstitions there is so I think it deserves a place on the list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.227.136.241 (talk) 13:57, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- That was a couple of daysago, so I don't know. You could probably add it back if you want. J.delanoygabsadds 14:55, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
Vampires in new york (book) AfD tag
Sorry for being quick on the draw to restore the AfD tag at Vampires in new york (book). Since there've been issues with the original editor deleting the tags, I didn't want him to get blamed for your inadvertent deletion of the wrong tag. Otherwise, I'd have left it for you to fix yourself.
And if you're like me, you probably just selected the wrong tag. I can't speak for you, but I know I have an edit or two like that a day. The worst is templates; if I had a dollar for everytime I typed {{foo}] or the like and hit save instead of preview... :) —C.Fred (talk) 16:59, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- No worries. A user added a {{hangon}}, so I tried to manually revert with Huggle, but it apparently went crazy, and I didn't immediately notice. Then I edit-conflicted you trying to fix it by hand from Firefox. J.delanoygabsadds 17:03, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Hello J. - would it be possible to get a short term block for IP User:87.112.78.98? In his very short time here he has vandalised an article which you reverted and warned him for here, then bandied some legal threats about, then blanked my user page and called me a Nazi. Header added
J Delanoy I am not sure but it appears that there were deletions I made to the molecule ethylene glycol dimethacrylate? I added the uniform code to find this molecule (CAS 97-90-5) and also the original reference Beilstein 2, IV, p1523. Additionally I added the formula weight 198.22 This type of reference categories is standard in international Organic polymer chemistry. For students using Wikipedia it would be important. There is no subterfuge that I am aware of Also I added the accepted abbreviation of EGDMA which is the accepted name for the ethylene glycol substituted version. Thus when a student types in EGDMA he is quickly linked to the parent copmpound where the CAS number is geven. When I typed in EGDMA wiki had no match? Thus I thought I was adding information for completeness. I do not do this regularly so I did not open an account. I am a Chemist (MD,PhD) working in polymer biotecnology. What I added was routine but cetainly would make the site much more of a resource. If this is not really acceptable then I understand. Sincerely RHK.
- Sorry, that was a mistake. J.delanoygabsadds 20:34, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

WHAT?!
How is it vandalism you admin clearly say I am vandalizing the article when it is who I gave it most of the information then ever, before were a few sentences and look at it now, it looks like a great article and you guys call that vandalism, I did what i had to do because you guys keep on saying that it resembles a fan site! I worked hard on the article, how does it make it a fan site?! Then you know what you should also put that for Selena's article too because it has the same type of media, music samples and pictures as Yukiko Okada's page does. 6:15 pm, 13 June 2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by YukikoTV (talk • contribs) 22:16, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Blocking Vördschin killa as a sock
Hello J.delanoy - I've noticed that about a couple of days ago you blocked this user as a sock. Do you know who he/she is a sock of? If this account is a sock it should be tagged with a {{sockpuppet}} template. I've noticed that it made only two edits: one to Schweinchen Fick's talk page, and one to yours. So, I'm currently thinking it's a Schweinchen Fick sock, but I'd like to know who you think it is so I can tag it accurately. I found Schweinchen Fick because he was vandalizing JamesBurns' talk page (which I had recently turned into a redirect to his user page as JamesBurns is banned). That's also how I found Vördschin killa, when I saw Schweinchen Fick's talk page. By the way, keep up the good work: I've noticed your edits and I must say I'm impressed with how easily you deal with vandals (like as if your ten times better than ClueBot).--DisturbedNerd999 (Delete!) 23:08, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the compliments :-) You are correct that it's a SF sock. (I don't like saying it because it means something... unpleasant in another language) I don't tag socks, but you are free to go ahead if you want. Cheers. J.delanoygabsadds 23:14, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
