Marangattupally is a small village in Kottayam district, Kerala. Most of its people are either farmers or engaged in small-scale business. K. R. Narayanan, the tenth President of India, was born and grew up in the neighboring village of Uzhavoor. K M Mani, former minister was also born and brought up in this village. It is a trading center of natural rubber and majority of people are engaged in rubber cultivation. The majority of the population belongs to Catholic community. St. Francis Assisi Church in Marangattupilly is a famous church and belongs to Pala diocise. This village has a Lions Club, police station,a Health center and a High School. It belongs to Palai constituency.
