International Medical Group (IMG), is a conglomerate of health-related businesses, headquartered in Kampala, Uganda. IMG is the leading provider of private medical services in Uganda.[1]
History
IMG is the brainchild of Dr. Ian Clarke, a physician, missionary, philanthropist and businessman, who was born and educated in Ireland, but has resided in Uganda since 1988. The first company in the group, International Hospital Kampala was established in 1996. [2]
Subsidiaries
The member companies of IMG include:
- International Hospital Kampala (IHK) - 200 bed state-of-the-art tertiary care hospital
- International Air Ambulance (IAA)
- Uganda Health Management Institute (UHMI)
- International Hospital School of Nursing (IHSON)
- International Medical Foundation (IMF)
- International Health Sciences University (IHSU) - Began classes in 2008[3]
These medical programs utilize IMG's own network of facilities, including a fully equipped hospital, countrywide clinics, and rescue and evacuation by road and air ambulance. [4]
