The Darknessbot undid my renaming of the article above, I'm not sure (technically) why it did, would you be able to let me know what went on? [[User:Alastairward|Alastairward]] ([[User talk:Alastairward|talk]]) 09:46, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of User talk:Top10optimizer

A tag has been placed on User talk:Top10optimizer, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. NetSPI

ShakingSpirit,

I have revised the page on NetSPI in an attempt to answer objections about its being promotional or not notable. My model has been the page for nCircle, a sometime partner of NetSPI. I think the media references meet the criteria for notability, and I have striven for a Sergeant Friday ("Just the facts, Ma'am) tone in the text.

Burgo, glad to see you're rewriting it :) Remember, the reason why it went last time were G11 (blatant advertising) and A7 (doesn't state notability) - A7 bares some explanation, as is doesn't mean the subject isn't notable, but that the article doesn't state why it is - i.e., why do we care about NetSPI? What makes them worth a wikipedia page? As long as you sort both of these, even if your article is short and without many sources, you can still create it in mainspace - maybe tag it with a stub tag and/or {{underconstruction}} and you'll be safe from speedy deletion, and well on your way to writing a great encyclopedic article! Which you can improve from there :) If there's anything I can help with, let me know. ShakingSpirittalk 19:09, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NetSPI

ShakingSpirit,

Thanks for the feedback. I will edit the page to show why people should care about NetSPI. Basically, the reason is that network and information security is a huge concern for individuals, companies, and countries like the U.S., and NetSPI has built a good reputation in helping to fend off the cyber bad guys.

A7

I noticed that you wrote, Simply because the subject is eligible, doesn't mean that any article on them is valid - As per WP:A7, any article which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant may be speedily deleted. ShakingSpirittalk 06:45, 21 April 2009 (UTC) This is not exactly true. A7 only applies to a few specific types --- REAL people, REAL companies, REAL musical groups, REAL websites, and a few others. An article on a comic book character does not have to assert importance or significance as it is not about a real person.---I'm Spartacus! NO! I'm Spartacus! 20:51, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for my wording (feel free to remove confusion and call me out on it on the original page) - in context we were talking about his deleted company's page, but I admit how I put it was technically incorrect. ShakingSpirittalk 20:59, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NetSPI Article

Greetings ShakingSpirit,

I have revised the article on NetSPI some more, after learning how to handle external links better. Can you tell me the next steps? Is there a review period? What else do I need to do? Thanks very much for your help.
