David Bridges (born 22 September, 1982 in Huntingdon) is an English footballer who plays for Stevenage Borough. He is a midfielder.
Career
Bridges began his career with Cambridge United, coming through the club's successful youth policy, he made his debut in the old Division Two against Huddersfield Town in March 2002 and scored his first goal for the club in a home game with Tranmere Rovers the following month. Bridges left Cambridge at the end of the 2003/04 season after failing to agree a contract with French manager Hervé Renard.
After trialling at a number of clubs, most notably Chesterfield and Rushden & Diamonds, without securing a deal, Bridges considered playing in America before an opportunity arrived to play in Latvia for FK Riga. An early injury prevented a lengthy stay and he returned to the UK to join Histon and played his part in the final games of the 2004/05 season, helping them achieve promotion to the Conference South.
