This article is about a nightclub. For other uses of the name, see Flamingo (disambiguation)
The Flamingo is a gay nightclub in the UK seaside resort of Blackpool. It is one of the oldest of its kind in the country, having operated from the same site since the beginning of the 1980s.
It was at one time the largest dedicated gay nightclub (i.e. as opposed to gay club nights in heterosexual venues) in Europe.
The building in which it has been housed was bought by Blackpool Borough Council and is scheduled for demolition in accordance with the so-called Blackpool "masterplan", which would see the redevelopment of large sections of the town. It is relocating to a new, larger site on the 27th January, 2006.
