Georges Christian Peter Imbert born March 25, 1884 in Niederstinzel, Lorraine died February 6, 1950 in Saar Union, Alsace. Around 1920 developed the wood gas generator for the automobile that was commonly used in Europe until petroleum fuel became more economical in the region. He studied chemical engineering in Mulhouse, Alsace.
