He was the founding member and the former Managing Director of Orient McCann-Erickson Pakistan, belonged to a well-known literary family of Bihar. Mr. Hashmi died at the age of 71 in Karachi after a prolonged illness which was repeatedly complicated with bouts of pneumonia and other complicating factors. He left behind his wife, two sons, Masood and Mahmood, and three daughters. All of his children are married.
Mr. Mahmood Hashmi is now C.E. of Orient Advertising.
