Twelvers
Alawism and Alevism are distinct from Twelver Shi'ism, thus i will move them to separate headings.--IsaKazimi (talk) 19:12, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
sufism islam,by: royfbc@msn.com.au
yr 1952,place country town northern nsw australia, the writer was 11 yrs young and believed Bahdad was a studio lot in holywood where incredible tales of Arabian nights were created. What I really should have asked Charlie Nundah our local and only asia-minor refugee at the time,"Charlie are you a sufi?" At the time my late parents were not practicing christians,no mention of Christ let alone Muhammed? I attended a catholic primary school operated by very dedicated convent Nuns!Cover up all fleshy parts possible, wear a very uncomfortable stiff collar and I believe now with experience that a Muslim womens hijab would have been easier on the convent Nuns?! In high school the catholic educational system separated boys and girls, boys went under the control of Marist Priests or brothers, again the heavy cassock worn with a very stiff collar was added discomfort on top of controlling the large classroom of students. It seems that Islamic schools of this century are closer to the christian models of the last century with many of us christian seniors believing that modesty of dress plus strick adherance to christian values help form character and work ethic in the children of the last century! If we had any say in the education of our 10 grandchildren,I would happily send them to an Islamic organised school if the dress code and discipline were complemented with a love of learning? It is the choices we make, not the chances we take that determine our Destiny....somehow I feel that the Sufis Islamic creed which encourages music and dance plus pursuit of the mystical mysteries of the creation debate and the effect of our mortality on the behavior of spiritual beings who believe in a day of Judgement? This school curicullum would be my choice for grandchildren today. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.218.93.152 (talk) 13:09, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
