Jaktorów [jakˈtɔruf] is a village in Grodzisk Mazowiecki County, Masovian Voivodeship, in east-central Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Jaktorów.[1] It lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) west of Grodzisk Mazowiecki and 37 km (23 mi) south-west of Warsaw.

The last recorded live aurochs (or urus (Bos primigenius), polish tur - the ancestor of domestic cattle, was a type of huge wild cattle which inhabited Europe, Asia and North Africa), a female, died in 1627 in the Jaktorów Forest, Poland. The skull was later taken by the Swedish Army during the Swedish invasion of Poland (1655–1660) and is now the property of Livrustkammaren in Stockholm.
