TNBC (Teen NBC) was a Saturday morning programing block of television shows geared toward teenagers and young adults that aired on NBC. It ran from 1992 until 2002, when it was replaced by the Discovery Kids on NBC programming block. The idea for TNBC sprang from the popularity of Saved by the Bell.[1] This ultimately persuaded NBC to cancel animated programs in favor of live action teen-oriented shows on Saturday mornings, making NBC the first network to drop children's programming entirely. However, the children's programming returned in 2002 via the Discovery Kids on NBC block, though this was a time-lease agreement to provide E/I-compliant programming to their affiliates rather than having any network input or production. the programs: California Dreams, Hang Time, City Guys and Saved by the Bell: The New Class were the most successful shows on the Saturday morning block.
