Savitribai phule was bourn in Naygaun in satara disrtict. She was first lady taecher of first ladies school in Pune.That School was started in Wada Which just now right opposit to Famous Dagadu Sheth Halwai Ganpati mandir. She was largely opposed by Pune public as at that time Women were not ment to be given education. She was one of active members of Satya shodhak samaj. Recently Maharashteera gov. Started Award by her name for Women Who Work Social Cause.
