This would be unfair for a player like Pele to not have a page. Countless people have been labelled the new Pele. Probably more than new Maradonas. I think this page should be deleted, or a 'New Pele' page added/ |

Too many
This article should not mention every player who has at some point in his life been called "New Maradona" by an obscure/unreliable/exaggerating media source. For example, the di Santo case:
- "Up to 10 Premier League clubs are chasing the signature of 6ft 4in, 18-year-old Argentine wonderkid Franco Di Santo - described as the new Maradona. (Sunday Mirror)" [1]
That shouldn't be enough, nobody is seriously calling him the "New Maradona" (unless they're blind, or his agent). It was just a line to fill space. And I'm taking di Santo as an example, from the list I think only Latorre, Ortega, Riquelme, Tévez and Messi have been seriously dubbed "New Maradona". Fache (talk) 23:02, 28 October 2010 (UTC)
