10199 Chariklo is a large minor planet that orbits between Saturn and Uranus. It is the largest known member of the centaur family of minor planets. Cariklo was discovered by James V. Scotti of the Spacewatch program on February 15, 1997 and was given the temporary designation of 1997 CU26.

A photometric study[1] in 2001 was unable to find a definate period of rotation. Infrared observations [2] of Cariklo give a diameter in the range of 300 kilometers, and find evidence for absorbtion by water ice.

It was named after the nymph Chariclo, the wife of Chiron and the daughter of Apollo.
