Name

Was he also known as Sayyid Mohammed Idris or Sayyed Mohammed Idris ? --Rajah 23:42, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have not heard of any.--86.29.255.216 (talk) 21:36, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sayyid isn't a name, it's a title equals to Mr. or Sir in English, and it's common in Senussi family that "sayyid" or "sayyida" preceding their names, for men and women, old and and children.

Emir of Tripolitania?

What is the basis for the contention in the succession boxes that he was "Emir of Tripolitania" from 1922 to 1951? The text doesn't seem to support the idea of any connection to Tripolitania prior to 1951. john k (talk) 17:55, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Number

Why is he referred to as "Idris I"? There's no Idris II, and hence no need to specify which one is meant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.47.164.226 (talk) 15:38, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

United States intervening in Suez Crisis

"Idris maintained close ties with the United Kingdom and the United States, even after the former intervened against Egypt during the 1956 Suez Crisis.[citation needed]" USA never intervened in the Suez Crisis.
