The Looney Tunes Show is an American animated television series (based on the original Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies characters and series from 1930–1969) which premiered on May 3, 2011 at 8:00pm Eastern[1] on Cartoon Network. It is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner CGI shorts are produced by Crew 972, and the overseas animation is done by Toon City Animation, Yearim, and Rough Draft Studios. It is rated TV-PG, making it the first Looney Tunes cartoon to have that rating.[citation needed]

Synopsis

The concept of the show revolves around Bugs and Daffy leaving the woods and moving to the suburbs in California with "colorful neighbors" including Lola Bunny, Porky Pig, Petunia Pig, Tina Russo Duck, Sylvester, Tweety, Emma Webster/Granny, Yosemite Sam, Speedy Gonzales, and more. In the show, each character has a roommate. For example, Bugs and Daffy are living in the same house. The show will also feature the CGI Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner shorts and the "Merrie Melodies", two-minute music videos showcasing classic characters singing original songs (for example: Yosemite Sam rapping about his anger problems, or as he puts it, "blowing his stack" and Marvin the Martian telling about what it's like to be a Martian). Each of the episodes will center on the characters in the neighborhood, the growth of their relationships, and the exploration of the newly established friendship between Bugs and Daffy.[citation needed]

Confident, cool and usually three steps ahead of everybody else, Bugs still has a few surprising quirks, not the least of which is having Daffy Duck as his best friend, but he pays most of the rent for the house and is responsible. Bugs knows everything about Daffy, whereas Daffy doesn't even know Bugs' catchphrase, which he says all the time (What's Up, Doc). Even though Bugs' cool demeanor generally works to his favor, it sometimes misguides him, as when he came to believe that prison was "a smart-aleck's paradise".

Eccentric and cheery, yet dim-witted, Daffy has been enjoying life under Bugs' roof for several years. Daffy's extreme personality and outrageous behavior always make life more interesting (and complicated). Daffy's design, in most cases, more closely resembles his large-eyed circa-1940 incarnation than the later, more common design and in the first episode, his middle name is revealed to be 'Sheldon'. Daffy's small attention span can be frustrating, but in his heart, he truly cares for Bugs and wants to impress him. For example, Bugs was able to convince Daffy to do all of the chores for the first 365 days of the year while he did all of the chores for the rest of the year. He tends to be the chaotic of the two, though he can prove to be a steady balance to Bugs on his own, such as when he tries to convince Bugs that prison isn't the dream life he thinks it is.

Porky's wide-eyed, boyish innocence sometimes makes him an easy target, but he's happy just to be included and everyone may notice that he doesn't wear pants.

The resident TV newscaster, Elmer's dry, sluggish delivery can make even bad news seem not so bad.

Quick and quick-witted, Speedy owns the local pizza place, Pizzarriba, one of the most popular hangouts in town.

Lola is Bugs' bubbly, kooky, sweet, semi-girlfriend, and she talks on and on a mile a minute, whether anybody else is listening or not and is best friends with Tina Russo Duck. She tries to be consistently interesting, but ends up coming off as flippant to her acquaintances.

Tina is Daffy's tough, street-smart girlfriend. She works at Copy Place, and she's attracted to Daffy because she "loves a project" and is best friends with Lola Bunny. Designed similarly to Melissa Duck, Daffy's female counterpart in previous Looney Tunes productions.

Having worked his way up to be a rich entrepreneur and adventurer, Foghorn refuses to see the negative in any situation, no matter how obvious it might be.

Petunia Pig is Porky's shy girlfriend.

Short and short-tempered, Yosemite Sam lives next door to Bugs and Daffy. He's a liar, a cheat and a sore loser, but at least he's consistent.

While he's capable of becoming an unstoppable, whirling tornado of destruction, the Tasmanian Devil usually just acts as Bugs Bunny's dog.

Endlessly exuberant, incessantly positive and unfailingly polite, these two talkative British gophers are best friends who own the local antique shop.

The resident Casanova and wedding planner for the local country club, Pepé Le Pew has a French accent and refined sense of taste that make him irresistible to women. He has been married seven times, and started a relationship with Lola shortly after she objected to her own wedding. In the series, he has somehow gotten rid of his trademark stench

The Witch's shy son may be an 8-foot-tall monster, but at his core, he's just an awkward yet sweet middle-school kid.

A former foreign exchange student from Mars who went to Daffy's high school, Marvin is still a nerdy misfit with a laser pistol.

In addition to being a witch and Bugs' and Daffy's neighbor, she gives no-nonsense advice and is the loving mother of a giant hairy monster, Gossamer. She and her design are identical to the Witch Hazel character in previous Looney Tunes shorts, the only difference being her name ("Lezah" is "Hazel" spelled backwards). Witch Lezah speaks in African American Vernacular English.

While Tweety appears to be an innocent, vulnerable canary, underneath his delicate, yellow exterior beats a crafty heart.

As Granny's pet cat, Sylvester spends most of his time trying to figure out how to catch Granny's pet bird, Tweety.

A sweet and kindly old lady with a spunky personality, Granny lives across the street with her pets Sylvester, Tweety and Hector the Bulldog and her first name is Emma Webster.

The fastest bird on Earth, the Road Runner is always one step ahead of the ravenous Wile E. Coyote.

Driven by his unending appetite, Wile E. Coyote is willing to risk his life to catch the Road Runner. And thanks to his constant supply of bad ideas and Acme products, his life is always at risk.

Two little mice who will risk anything to get cheese.

A female cat that always gets a white stripe on her back making her look like a skunk that attracts Pepe.

One of Granny's pets, Sylvester's enemy, and co-guardian and friend of Tweety.

The annoying stray dog that bothers Porky into adopting him.

The cute little mouse that talks too much.

The gullible puma that ends up having lumps on his head.

The yellow cat that antagonizes each Hubie and Bertie or Marc Anthony and Pussyfoot.

This bulldog and most adorable little kitten are friends. Marc Anthony acts as Pussyfoot's guardian and caregiver.

Gremlin will appear in a future installment of the series.
