Song Qian (Chinese: 宋茜; pinyin: Sòng Qiàn), better known as Victoria Song or mononymously as Victoria (Hangul: 빅토리아) was born February 2, 1987, is the Chinese member and leader of the South Korean girl group f(x).

Early Life

Victoria was born in Qingdao, Shandong. She went to Beijing Dance Academy to study dance when she was young. Beijing Dance Academy not just an university it includes pre-kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school too. Before she entered the Korean music industry, SM Entertainment debut her in Kangta's music video, where she was (and remains) a big fan of the Korean singer Kangta; as a loyal fan, she followed Kangta through fan meetings and concerts and the footage of her journey were shown in Kangta's music video, ETERNITY.[1] After her high school graduation, she was accepted to the prestigious Beijing Dance Academy and majored in Chinese ethnic dance.[2]

Debut in Korea

Victoria's outward appearance and skilled dancing caught the eyes of a talent agent during a dance competition held in Beijing in September 2007, and she was recommended to audition for SM Entertainment. She passed the auditions that same month and began preparing for her modeling career in South Korea.[1]

Victoria's first media appearance was for a Spris commercial in early 2008 with South Korean singer-actor Lee Jun-ki. A Spris publicist noted, "While Victoria Song is just a rookie, she carries a lot of potential. Whether she decides for a modeling career or an acting career, I can see a bright future ahead of her. Having such an innocent and playful image, she is very suitable to model our company's brand."[1] In April 2008, Victoria was signed to model for Samsung in a music video with Korean actor-singer Rain, and drew attention from the Chinese audience.Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page).

She is a new member of G7 in Invincible Youth replacing the old member Sunny, Yuri from Girls' Generation and 4Minute's HyunA.

She has guest-starred on the Korean comedy show, Running Man on episode 8 at the Seoul Museum of History, Gyeonghui Palace.[3] On June 1, 2010, Victoria was announced to be an additional cast member to We Got Married, pairing up with Nichkhun Horvejkul of 2PM.[4]

On a radio show, Victoria said her best friends in the industry are Super Junior's Kyuhyun and TVXQ's Changmin and that she is also close friends with Super Junior's Ryeowook.[5]

In May 2011, 2PM Nichkhun Horvejkul and f(x) Victoria were selected as the new 2011 models for Everland's Caribbean Bay Aqualoop CF. Already know as a couple through MBC’s We Got Married, the two will be continuing their sweet antics as models for the brand. [6]

Music career

A teaser trailer of f(x) was released via YouTube on August 24, 2009.[7] The group's debut digital single "Lachata" was released on September 1, followed by a 40-second teaser of the corresponding music video revealed on YouTube. The group debuted on September 2 in a showcase specifically designed to introduce the group, in which the event was held at the Samseong-dong Fashion Center. On September 5, the group had their first broadcast performance on MBC's music show Music Core.[8] They released their first single album, Chu~♡, in November of the same year.

On May 4, 2010, f(x) came back with "Nu ABO," and are currently promoting "Pinocchio (Danger)" (a remake of Kristine Elezaj's "Razor") and "Hot Summer" (a remake of Monrose's "Hot Summer").[9]
