Introduction

Doel (bangla or bengali:দোয়েল (কম্পিউটার))is a laptop assembled locally in Bangladesh[1]. It is being assembled by Telephone Shilpa Sangstha[2]. 'Doel' or Oriental Magpie Robin is the National Bird of Bangladesh, where it is common and known as the 'Doyel' or 'Doel'. It is a widely used symbol in Bangladesh.

Costs

It costs approximately $130[3].

Background of Model

Primarily Doel (computer) introduces for his consumers into four types of model. They are: Doel Primary-2102, Doel Basic-0703, Doel Standard-2603 and Doel Advance-1612. Here briefly describes the code of Doel model numbers. These model names contains four historical incidents in Bangladesh from 1952 to 1971.

  • Doel Primary-2102: 21 is the date of Bengali Language Movement, which hold in 1952. And 02 is the month of February. So, 21 & 02 - two figures equally makes the Doel Primary model number 2102.
  • Doel Basic-0703: 07 is the date of the historical & famous speech, about Liberation of Bangladesh, delivered in Suhrawardy Udyan (former Race Cource Ground) by the founder of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1971. And 03 is the month of March. So, 07 & 03 - two figures equally makes the Doel Basic model number 0703.
