Volition, Inc. is a developer of computer and video games for consoles and Windows-based PCs. Volition is located in Champaign, Illinois. The company was created when Parallax Software (developers of the critically-lauded Descent series) were split in two. The other half was the now-defunct Outrage Entertainment who developed Descent 3 and Alter Echo.

Since then, Volition, Inc. has developed several acclaimed titles including Red Faction, Red Faction II, Summoner, and The Punisher. They are currently developing the next-gen title Saint's Row.
