Jump5 was an American dance-pop/contemporary Christian group.

History

Jump5 is formed (1999-2000)

Siblings Brandon and Brittany Hargest had competed on the same dance team as Lesley Moore, and were familiar with Chris Fedun and Libby Hodges through the competitive dance circuit. The mother of Hodges held an open casting call to find additional members to form a new pop group with her daughter, and the Hargest siblings along with Fedun and Moore were selected. The group was originally known as Jump Start, but the name was changed to Jump5 due to trademark conflicts. Norman Miller, the group's would-be manager, went to see the group perform and immediately referred them to Sparrow Records. Jump5 became the only teen act signed to the label to date.

Early years (2001-2003)

Jump5 released their self-titled debut album on August 14, 2001. The album was re-released twice, first with an additional bonus track, then with a cover of Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A." after the events of September 11th. Over the following three years they released three more albums: All the Time in the World, All the Joy in the World and Accelerate.

Jump5 toured with Aaron Carter, Play, A*Teens, Baha Men, Zoegirl, No Secrets, Nobody's Angel, Dream Street, ATC, Youngstown, and Radio Disney Live, and had a string of popular hits on Radio Disney.

Hodges leaves Jump5, Noack temporarily takes her role (2004)

In January 2004, Hodges decided to leave the group as she wanted to "take a deep breath and see what exactly God wants me to do at this point in my life." In April, the group released a remix CD titled Mix It Up. That spring it was revealed via the group's official fanclub that Natasha Noack had joined the group as Jump5's fifth member. She participated in the Radio Disney Spring Thing Tour, and took part in recording a cover of the J. Geils Band's "Freeze Frame" for the Sleepover soundtrack. In June, it was revealed that Noack was only in the group on a "trial basis" and it was mutually decided that she not continue with Jump5.

On September 21, 2004, the group released Dreaming in Color, their first release as a quartet.

Unreleased Radio The World and independent career (2005-2007)

In 2005, a new studio album with the working title of Radio The World was set to be released, but the project was scrapped. Instead, a greatest hits compilation album titled The Very Best of Jump5 was released on March 15, 2005. The group subsequently parted ways with Sparrow Records and released their next album, Rock This Christmas, independently, under Nevaeh Records.

"Both To Blame" was released for online streaming only on November 30, 2006. It was never made available for download or purchase.

On October 9, 2007 Jump5 released a final album entitled Hello & Goodbye with Slanted Records. It included the titular song, "Hello Goodbye", which was recorded with former Jump5 member Libby Hodges. Jump5 also embarked on a final headlining tour coinciding with the album. The tour lasted 25 dates and they played to over 45,000 people during the tour. The tour ended in Nashville, Tennessee on December 16, 2007 at Rocketown.

Jump5 released a new Christmas album Christmas Like This exclusively through major digital outlets on November 20, 2007. The album featured songs from the group's 2005 indie release Rock This Christmas, but all the tracks had been re-recorded and remixed.

Jump5 officially disbanded on Sunday, December 16, 2007.

Aftermath

All 6 members of Jump5 are now tending to their personal objectives.

• Chris Fedun started a solo career in early 2008. He has recorded a few songs and released several singles and EPs over the years, but he has yet to record a full-length album. He is a major-label solo-artist. He sings in concerts once in a while. His songs can be heard on his MySpace account. He has been cast in several music videos, and played a role in the 2008 movie, Dance of the Dead. He now is a dance teacher at Hermitage Dance Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. He also started his own clothing line called "Fedora".
• Lesley Moore has worked for a company called RANDA Solutions for over 3 years. She will graduate with a degree in Psychology in 2012. She also signed as a publicist to Nashville Publicity Group on January 7, 2008. She has recorded a few country songs independently. She married Daniel Sawyer in 2009 and is currently pregnant with their first baby girl due in June 2012.
• Libby Hodges resumed education after leaving Jump5 and returned to the public eye as an independent solo artist in late 2009 and released two songs: "Shame On Me" and "Back To Blue" on her MySpace.
• Brandon and Brittany Hargest formed the independent duo "guest." in early 2008. Their debut release Perfect EP was made available on iTunes, Amazon and all digital music sites. Their full-length record titled Change of Scenery came out in December 2010. They went on tour with 7eventh Time Down in December 2010 for the "Rock Before Christmas" tour. They went on hiatus in early 2011.
  • Brittany Hargest signed a deal with SoulStride Records in February 2011. Her debut solo record, Love All the Way, was released on September 27, 2011.
  • Brandon Hargest got married to his long-time girlfriend Ashley in April 2011 and the two are in a duo called The Boy and The Bride. They started in mid-2011 and they are an independent act. They have recorded a few songs together.
• Natasha Noack is currently an independent solo-artist. She has recorded several songs and released several EPs. Her music can be heard on her MySpace.

Reunion

After almost four years of inactivity and separation, Jump5 (the founding members) reunited on December 5, 2011 to announce that Lesley Moore-Sawyer is now pregnant. They also sang and danced "Spinnin' Around", which was filmed and published on YouTube.
