The San Francisco Mime Troupe is a group of political, satirical actors, who perform free shows in various parks in the San Francisco Bay Area and around California. The group was founded in 1959 by R. G. Davis. As well as the park-based shows, the San Francisco Mime Troupe also tour theatres and hold workshops. They are a non-profit making organisation. The season traditionally starts on Fourth of July Weekend and ends on Labor Day Weekend. Shows include original music and satiric political theatre on topical themes.
